Spinative — Cookie Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-10 Last updated: 2026-05-19
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones we use on spinative.com and the Spinative platform, and how you can control them. Read it together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow the site to remember your actions and preferences (such as language, login state, theme) over a period of time, so you don't have to keep re-entering them every time you visit.
We also use technologies similar to cookies — such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixels — for some of the same purposes. In this Policy, references to "cookies" include those technologies.
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary
Cookies and storage required for the platform to function — you cannot opt out of these without breaking core functionality.
| Name | Purpose | Set by | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Clerk session cookie (__session, __client_uat, etc.) | Authenticate you and keep you signed in | Clerk (auth provider) | Session / up to 7 days |
__Host- and __Secure- Stripe cookies (during checkout) | Process payments and prevent fraud | Stripe | Session |
| Vercel anti-CSRF cookies | Protect against cross-site request forgery | Vercel | Session |
localStorage keys (sf_*, _sfRsModalPos, etc.) | Remember editor UI preferences (collapsed groups, modal positions, last-opened project) | Spinative | Until you clear browser data |
Legal basis: legitimate interest under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) / Article 22.1 LSSI exemption — strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent under EU law.
Analytics (optional)
Cookies that help us understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. These only fire after you grant consent through the cookie banner — they are blocked by default.
| Name | Purpose | Set by | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguish unique visitors (anonymised) | Google Analytics 4 | 2 years |
_ga_P7WMFTDK4T | Persist session state for property G-P7WMFTDK4T | Google Analytics 4 | 2 years |
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-P7WMFTDK4T) with IP anonymisation enabled (anonymize_ip: true) and Google's Consent Mode v2 defaults set to "denied" — meaning no analytics cookies set, no data sent to Google, until you opt in. We do not enable Google Signals, ad personalisation, or cross-device tracking. We do not link the analytics data to your account.
Legal basis: consent — GDPR Article 6(1)(a) / LSSI Art. 22.2. You can withdraw consent at any time through the cookie banner (the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer re-opens it).
Marketing (optional)
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not run retargeting, ad-network pixels, or third-party advertising scripts on spinative.com.
3. How to control cookies
Through our cookie banner
When you first visit spinative.com, a banner asks for your consent to non-essential cookies. You can:
- Accept all — consent to every category we use
- Reject all — only strictly-necessary cookies fire
- Customise — choose categories individually
You can change your choice at any time by clicking "Cookie preferences" in the website footer, which re-opens the same controls.
Through your browser
You can also control or block cookies via your browser settings. Most browsers let you:
- View and delete cookies already stored - Block cookies from specific sites - Block third-party cookies entirely - Enable "Do Not Track" requests (which we honour for analytics cookies, where they exist)
Step-by-step guides:
Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break login and payment flows.
4. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new cookies or change how existing ones are used. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. For material changes we will request renewed consent through the cookie banner.
